Viticulture has been part of Western Australia’s history since 1829 with Pemberton being recognised as the heart of a thriving wine-growing region which is why this region is ideally situated for Ampersand Estates. We transformed and expanded the old Donnelly River Wines into a contemporary winery & distillery and a stunning event and picnic venue, where day visitors and guests can take advantage of the expansive views that form the perfect frame for our estate whilst enjoying the region’s finest.
The Cellar Door
Delight your palate in a wine-tasting experience at our cellar door. To appreciate the seasonal bouquet of Ampersand Estates wines, we guide you on how to perfectly pair wines with food. With over 56 hectares of vineyards, our lush vines produce a harvest of core varietals, including Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Tempranillo and Riesling. Best described as light and approachable, our wines have been created in partnership with the region’s top winemakers such as Bruce Dukes and Andries Mosert. Ampersand Estates wines are an expression of the unique beauty and outstanding natural tones of the area.
Artisanal Flair at Rainfall Distillery
Returning to a purer and more authentic form of distilling, Ampersand Estates introduced Australia’s first single-harvest distillery offering lovers of artisanal spirits a wide variety of craft gin and vodka that will certainly have you coming back for more. Using only the purest regional rainwater in the distilling process, our artisanal spirits showcase fresh, seasonal ingredients grown in the Southern Forests region. Like our wines, our artisanal spirits are vintaged following the seasons from year to year. Combining the subtle undertones from our winery & distillery, you might even detect a hint of Pinot Noir in our artisanal gin. Enjoy uniquely crafted cocktails as our Master Mixologist takes you on a taste journey through complex layers of designer flavours.

Packed with an array of delicious regional harvestables from the Southern Forests, our gourmet picnic baskets can be enjoyed anywhere on the estate.
