The Homestead Range is the pinnacle of Ampersand Estates’ winemaking — a limited-release collection available by allocation only. Crafted with intention, it reflects our guiding philosophy that life is better with an “&” and pays homage to the heritage of our prestigious Estate.

Born of the cool-climate Southern Forests region, these wines are shaped by rich karri loam soils, abundant rainfall, and slow ripening conditions that produce purity of flavour and elegant natural acidity. Every bottle is a tribute to our terroir, story and the belief that when exceptional elements come together, the result is something unforgettable.

Featuring the debut vintage of The Homestead Syrah and The Homestead Esperluette, this range marks a new chapter of extraordinary with wines made to be savoured, remembered and shared.

The Homestead Esperluette

At Ampersand Estates, we believe that life is better with an “&”.

The Homestead Esperulrette brings that conviction to the glass. Named after the French term for ampersand, it blends Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet sauvignon into a truly exceptional wine.

This meticulous blend showcases bountiful dark berries interlaced with a subtle spice and a velvety structure with a persistent finish. Each grape is selected by hand from our pristine vineyards in the Pemberton wine region, where cool-climate mornings and karri-loam soils yield fruit of depth and rarity. Serve the Esperulrette with rosemary-perfumed steak or spiced lamb shoulder. An aged Comté or Manchego will mirror its depth and coax the wine’s soulful richness into full bloom.

The Ampersand philosophy of “and” is echoed in every velvety drop of the Homestead Esperulrette, showcasing how the union of extraordinary elements combine to create moments that last a lifetime. This bottle, a sumptuous blend of berries, spice and silken tannins, promises to linger beyond the palate and endure as a cherished memory.

From Residence to Range

An ode to heritage and character, this range was born to unite kindred spirits and frame the moments we hold most dear. Ampersand Estates is the oldest vineyard in the Pemberton wine region and on that estate is the homestead, a residence designed by the last living member of the Oldfield’s family—the original owners of the property. Every timber beam and river-smoothed stone was gathered from the estate itself, crafting a residence designed for laughter, intimacy and the forging of lasting memories. Like the Homestead, this range weaves heritage with elegance, inviting you to linger in a sanctuary of luxury and meaning with every sip.

The Homestead Syrah

Deep garnet with a luminous violet core, the 2024 Homestead Syrah is a wine of quiet grandeur and refined finesse—an expression of precision and pedigree. Its aromatic profile is striking yet elegant, revealing black cherry compote, preserved plum, and aged sandalwood, accented by pink peppercorn and fragrant clove. The bouquet recalls fine silk and rare wood.

On the palate, it is medium-bodied and silky, unfolding layers of ripe blackcurrant and dark cocoa, framed by ultra-fine tannins and a hint of slate-like minerality. A lingering finish brings whispers of graphite, polished leather, and cool stone, marking this as a wine of character, craft, and quiet celebration.

Scored RP94 by Erin Larkin in the Wine Advocate, this is a wine of quiet grandeur best enjoyed by a crackling fire, in treasured company and paired with soy-glazed Wagyu ribeye, honey-roasted duck or slow-braised lamb shoulder spiced with star anise and Szechuan pepper.
